After last Writer's Craft class, where my teacher pointed out that one cannot be a good writer without being an avid reader, I decided to get back into reading. Maybe this is why I have been struggling more in high school English than ever before, and why my vocabulary is lacking. I used to be an avid reader, I really was (just ask my bookshelf)...but then homework, projects, assignments, tests...the works...stole me from my beloved, now untouched, books. I needed to get back to them. By her recommendation, I went out to Costco right after school, bought John Green's The Fault in Our Stars, finished most of it the following day, and managed not to let the waterworks run (yet!). Let's just say I'm on a bookhunt, for the sake of my writing. A couple on my list: Perks, GOT, The Memory Keeper's Daughter, Lovely Bones, that one that the school librarian recommended me...that new one with the fantastical image of a girl immersed in deep waters. *On an unrelated not (because I feel the need to include this in this entry), this pen works wonders on this paper. The smoothness of the ball and ink running on this "80% calcium carbonate + 20% non-toxic resins" Repap paper is wonderful. Wonderful...I wish I had a better word. After today's biology class, in which we reviewed some chemistry stuff, I feel slightly troubled because I don't remember what I learned in gr10 science. Seemed like such a long time ago. However, I did manage to include the words 'converge' and 'diverge' in my lab answers.
I don't know...to me, journal entries are supposed to be casual, but I just feel so inclined to write poetically, so to speak...and I'll leave it at that.
